Super Bowl Sunday

I wish I was a football fan. Everybody looked like they were having so much fun at the Super Bowl Parties around the ship Sunday night.

We started the day at 10:00 am with the Lifeboat Drill. Usually it is before the sail away but with the security breach delaying boarding and sail away yesterday, it was delayed until today. After the drill we had breakfast in the Lido deck and then watched some of Leatherhead on the big screen by the pool. For me it was a boring football movie... very appropriate for Super Bowl Sunday though. I wanted to see it because it was filmed in Greenville and Greer.

We finally met most of our Cruise critic friends at a Meet and Greet in the Lobby Bar around 2:00. It was great talking to them and we were able to confirm our tours with those who had been planning them for us. We stayed there until 4:00.

Tea was good. I had the best scone ever and Jack loved some kind of apple something. He said it was the best desert he had ever had on Carnival.

We almost slept through dinner but made it to our table before our table mates had ordered. Now this was a new table. Yesterday we had the Maitre' d change us to the Black Pearl dinning room from the Gold Pearl. The Gold Pearl is at the very back of the ship and our room at the very front. The Black Pearl is more convenient. We are in the center of the dinning room at a table for 8. A Zoology Professor from the University of Wyoming, a retired dentist and another couple from Calif..(more to find out about them.

The most interesting conversation was about Troncones Beach in Mexico. Jack and I spent a week there this summer. It turns out that everybody at the table had been to Troncones. The professor even described the cover over the pool in detail. Wow what a small world.

We did watch the Steelers win. No other choices...... every bar and lounge was alive with the excitement of the game. The game was on on the big screen by the pool. In the theater, in the Sports Bar. In the Jazz Bar ….... everywhere.... complete with hot dogs and beer.

  1. I watched the last three minutes of the game. That's all I needed. Do you sit at the same table with the same people all the time? What if you want to eat somewhere else?
