At sea

I sat out on the balcony for awhile this morning. It was about five o'clock and the sun was already up. It was warm and the sea was beautiful, with nine foot waves and whitecaps. I had to sit back against the wall because the wind was so strong. The ship is sailing at 21 knots and we are going into a 15 knot wind.

The ride has been rocky almost the entire trip so far. We have been rocked to sleep each night and have to hold onto the rails when we walk. Surprisingly I haven't been sick and by the number of people in the public rooms no one else has been either. The captain slowed the ship some and the singers and dancers were able to preform.

We are somewhere off the coast of South America on our way to Brazil.

  1. ~ Nine foot waves! Fun! Wow! I have been on a rocking boat a few times. I didn't get seasick...I loved the rocking motion...
The ISS should be visible to you in Fortaleza the evening that you are there. There will be a much better sighting while you are in Salvador though! We got to see the ISS last night. It was neat...and going 17,230 mph! Tatem ~
~ How warm is it there? the wind must feel nice. That is a huge ship. Do people use anything (other than their legs) to get around, like golf carts..or those gyro-scooter things? Nathan ~
